Doors open at 10.30am with disabled visitors gaining access 15 minutes earlier. Admission is £2.50 with those under 12 years free. There will be a Bring & Buy as well as commercial traders, a junk stall and amateur radio sellers. Traders can set up from 8am. Pitches must be booked at least 2 weeks beforehand with prices starting at £5. There will be refreshments available including bacon and sausage butties. There is car parking available and the venue has disabled facilities. Doors open from 10am to 2.30pm with disabled visitors gaining access from 9.50am. Admittance is £2. There will be trade stands, special interest groups, a Bring & Buy and RSGB bookstand. A raffle will take place on the day. Catering is available on site. Venue is ideally suited for both trader and disabled as it has good parking and access to a large ground floor hall. There will be the usual radio, computer, electronics stands and a Bring & Buy. Ofcom amateur radio licence statistics released this week appear to show a continuing rise in the number of UK amateur radio licences.

Ofcom's April statistics, which cover up until the end of March, show a grand total of 80658 licences against a figure for the previous month of 80357. There are approximately 2400 passes in the different grades of amateur radio exams each year so the increase for the month appears to be in line with the expected new licences issued for that month.

On March 14 a response to a Freedom of Information Request stated that "Ofcom have not carried out another extension." [of the licence]

If as Ofcom say the licences haven't been automatically extended then it seems surprising that the numbers continue to increase.

The five year amateur radio licence was introduced in December 2006 and issued automatically to all current licence holders e.g. those who had taken out or renewed a licence from January 2006. It was later automatically extended by a year because of the 2012 Olympic Games. As a result it was expected that a large number of licences should have expired from December 2012. It is believed over 500 UK radio amateurs die each year and those who passed away in 2006/7/8/9 are unlikely to have renewed their licence.
